The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the election of Abiola Ajimobi as duly elected Governor of Oyo State in the April 11, 2015 Governorship election in the state. The Apex Court also upheld the elections of Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Ibrahim Gaidam of Yobe State. In a unanimous judgment the Apex Court, dismissed the appeals against the victory of the Governors.

This is the Supreme Court and it is a day of marathon judgement as the court delivers its verdict on disputed Governorship elections of three states same day. In the case of Oyo State, Justice Clara Ogunbiyi who delivered the judgment, held that Rasheed Ladoja’s appeal before the Court lacks merit and constituted gross abuse of court process.
