The Ad Hoc Committee investigating contracts awarded by the Nigerian Railway Corporation between 2010 and 2014 is continues to gather evidence at the House of Representatives. The days session has the Managing Director of The Nigerian Railway Corporation Adeseye Sijuade who could not the inconsistencies in some payments.
The Managing Director was first asked to explain the difference between flagging of and commissioning as it relates to project under the Railway Corporation. One issue that is bothering the committee is the fact that a contract for a forty kilometers track was awarded at the cost 19 billion out of which 9.6 billion had been paid but only three kilometers have been completed.
The contractor, a Turkish Company headquartered in turkey, but the payment certificate came in the company’s West African logo, ETSA West Africa.
