FG TO COLLABORATE WITH AGENCIES TO STEP UP TREATMENT FOR 50,000 NIGERIANS

The Federal Government says about 50,000 patients will be given free HIV treatment in two states of the federation.
The Director General of National Aids Control Agency, John Idoko while welcoming the Executive Director of the UNAIDS mission to Nigeria on a courtesy visit to his office.

The DG of NACA says there has been a decline in funding for pep-far project for the treatment of mothers to prevent mother to child transmission. Going further he says 712 Local Government will not benefit from the ante natal screening of HIV in the country. This development according to the DG will not help reduce mother to child transmission of HIV/AIDs. He says the victims of insurgency are not receiving adequate treatment in the Internally Displaced Camps.
