Ways to increase Nigeria’s internally generated revenue has continued to ring a bell in major governmental circles. Members of the House Committee on Works have been taking time to review the twenty fifteen budget as well as look into the 2016 appropriation projections for the Ministry of Works, Housing and Power. They are curious to know among many other issues to know how the minister is intending to do to raise money for the country through his Ministry.
An overview of the Ministry’s 2015 appropriation show that it was allotted the sum of forty four point nine eight five nine one six, five four three billion naira out of which capital allocation is nineteen point eight on two billion and overhead cost seventeen point five three seven billion naira and of these amounts, contracts for the completion of ongoing projects especially roads was paid, but to the amazement of members only small percentages of these projects have been completed.
