GERMANY PLEDGES $50M TO ASSIST NIGERIA

Talks have again continued on Nigeria’s intention to have a permanent seat at the United Nation Security Council. This time President Muhammadu Buhari is asking Germany’s governments support toward that quest.

German President Joachim Gauck who is in Nigeria has been visiting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa from where our correspondent Abiola Oluwole reports that President Joachim in conjunction with the European Union is pledging a 50 million dollar support to help fight against insurgency.

It was only after the two leaders emerged fro! their closed door meeting that news men got of their discussions. The German leader speaking through an interpreter expressed his Nations condolences on the recent attacks that claimed the lives of 58 people in an IDP Camp in Borno state.

He says Germany is ready to assist Nigeria in defeating the Boko Haram Insurgents in the North East while announcing a 50 million donation to fight Boko Haram, the money is coming via a partnership with the European Union and his country.
