The Federal Government says the issue of liquidity in the Power sector is vital for sustainable growth to be achieved.
Power, Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola, while speaking at the commissioning of the newly serviced unit of the Jebba hydropower station says once there is liquidity in the sector investors will have the confidence to put their money into the sector.
The Minister who expresses delight at the servicing and return into operations of the turbine says it is unfortunate that the turbine is being serviced 30 years after its commissioning when it was actually designed to be serviced every 6 years. Going further he thanked the Japanese Government for the assistance to make the servicing possible. He says for such servicing to become the norm and not the exception, the vexed issue of liquidity must be addressed.
