As Nigerians continue to call for action on the economy, Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, says the Federal Government should convoke an emergency economic conference to come up with solutions to address the parlous state of the economy. He is however content with the pace at which the federal government is fighting the war on graft describing the revelations on the level of misappropriation of funds mind boggling.
The Nobel Laureate while responding to questions on the state of the nation on his visit to the minister of information and culture says, the current economic woes did not happen overnight. Going further, he says it is a consequence of years of mis-governance urging Nigerians to be patient.
For him, an emergency economic conference by the Federal Government to come up with solutions is in order.
