The Senate has been receiving some reports from the ethics and privileges committee bothering on individual petitions. One of such petitions is seeking the suspension of Senator Kabiru Mafara who is being accused of disparaging the Senate with interviews granted the press. As is the tradition petitions are first taken at plenary, several have been presented by the ethics committee, but one standing out is the petition against Senator Kabiru Marafa which will now be studied by the Senate.
A one week window was requested by the by the appropriation committee which they got to finalize the committees works with the MDAs, the Chairman of the appropriation. Committee says the committee is ready to begin receiving the reports. Next on the order paper is a motion seeking the resuscitation ailing industries in Nigeria to create alternative sources of revenue to help Nigeria’s economy in place of oil. Sponsored by sixty seven members, the need for industrial rebirth is been emphasized.
