Nancy Keme Dickson, the 26-year-old abducted younger sister of Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson, has regained her freedom after spending over 70 days in kidnappers’ den. The governor in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said his sister was rescued by security operatives on Sunday evening.
Nancy, who is said to be the last child of the Dickson’s family, was abducted on December 19, 2015 by unidentified gunmen. The student of the state-owned Niger Delta University (NDU) was kidnapped at her shop located in Okaka Road, Yenagoa, the state capital.
The gunmen drove in an ash-coloured Lexus Jeep, trailed the victim to her shop and whisked her away to an unknown place at about 2:50pm on that day.
