As the nation is still trying to come to terms with the abduction and the eventual release of Ese Oruru the 14yr old teenager from her home in Bayelsa State South South Nigeria, another kidnapping has also taken place this time in Lagos state. Worried by this developing trend a motion has been raised by Babajimi Benson representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos state.
He notes that on Monday February 29th, 2016, heavily armed men scaled the school fence of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School Ikorodu and abducted the 3 school girls at work about 8pm.
Other members in condemning the act complaining that the spate of kidnapping in the country and the inability of the Police and other security agency to end what they considered an embarrassment to the nation is becoming alarming and called for capital punishment to serve as deterant for the crime.
