The National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently arrested 2 Pharmacists for importing 1544 cartons of expired Tramadol concealed in condom packs at Tincan Island in Lagos. The agency say it has also made a seizure of 1544 cartons of expired drugs of the same product weighing over 15 tonnes valued at 14 million naira in Kaduna state.
Chairman of NDLEA Muhammad Abdallah has been disclosing this at the launch and dissemination of 2015 annual report of International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) in Abuja by the UNODC (United Nations, Office on Drugs and Crime.)
The NDLEA Chairman says there has been an upward trend in the use of Tramadol over the past years. He said the drugs were imported from India without the permission of the regulatory agencies.
