KEBBI, JIGAWA OTHERS MOVE TO SAFE 70,000 AT RISK OF DEATH DUE TO ACUTE MALNUTRITION

Health experts say 370,000 children under five in five states in the North consisting of Kebbi, Katsina, Jigawa, Yobe and Zamfara are suffering from severe acute malnutrition which places them at the mercy of death. And according to medical experts an estimated 70,000 may die without treatment.

Liman Mohammed, Project Manager, working to improve nutrition in Nigeria (WINNN) says the rate of stunting in growth in Northern parts of Nigeria is 58percent. He urges mothers to practice exclusive breastfeeding for their children in the first six-month.
