COURT GRANTS EX-INTERIOR MINISTER, ABBA MORO BAIL ON SELF-RECOGNITION

The former Minister of Interior, Abba Moro who is standing trial along with others for money laundering charges can now heave a sigh of relief as a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday granted him bail on self-recognition. Justice Anwuli Chikere while delivering ruling on their bail application asks the second and third defendants to provide hundred million naira with one surety each in like sum.

The second and third defendants in suit are respectively former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior Anastasia Daniel-Nwobia, a director in the ministry Festus Alayebami. The accused persons are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on an 11-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, procurement fraud and money laundering.
