Three students of the Babington Macaulay Seminary Junior School, Ikorodu in Lagos, kidnapped last Monday night have been rescued. They were rescued on Sunday morning by the Police team who have been on the trail of the kidnappers. It was learnt that the kidnappers came with seven canoes at back of school and took the girls to Adama creeks, very close to the school.

The key suspect, Emmanuel Arikiti was arrested by the IGP’s Special Intelligence Response Team (SIRT) led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abba Kyari when he came out to buy food stuffs. Two other suspects who aided the gang in registering the Sim Card they used to contact the victims parents were nabbed by the Lagos State Police Command.

Severe pressure was mounted on the abductors with some of their parents arrested. A man whose two sons were among the gang had to paddle his canoe into the creeks tell other members that Emmanuel has been nabbed and the Police was about to launch an offensive through air and water on them.

Kidnappers sensing that they were already surrounded took the girls close to Igbo-Okuta bridge were they abandoned them and fled. Operation is still ongoing to nab eleven more members of the gang.
