In what seem like a crackdown on Ekiti State, the Commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo is being detained by the Department Of State Services. This comes after four members of the State House of Assembly were arrested after DSS Operatives stormed the hallowed chamber of the state on Friday March 4, 2016. While the State Executive Council condemns the arrest, it reiterates that latest arrests of principal officers is politically-motivated to intimidate Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Ekiti state government is no longer at ease, after the detention of Finance Commissioner, Toyin Ojo and the arrest of four lawmakers. The State Executive Council chaired by the deputy Governor, Kolapo Olusola at the end of its meeting criticises the Department of State Service, DSS, while accusing it of causing apprehension in the state.
