Workers in Taraba State have commenced a three day warning strike in the state. The strike is as a result of what they termed the non sensitivity of Taraba State Government to the suffering of workers and pensioners in the state. Work activities in government parastatals has been crippled as gates and offices are under lock and key public schools have not been left out.

The workers are protesting what they see as government’s unwillingness to address the abnormalities in the civil service system. Underpayment of salaries, omission of genuine workers from salary vouchers, illegal deduction from salaries, removal of approved allowances, non circulation of salary to local government workers, nonpayment of teachers, and many others are among the list of the agitations.
