Success recorded so far in attempts to rid the North East of terrorist attack cannot be said to be complete without the immense support of the local vigilantes and hunters. But how much of support these locals get from the Government is another issue as they complain of government’s insensitivity to their efforts.
Hunters and local vigilantes in Adamawa state are recorded to have been greatly instrumental to the recapture of several towns in the state that were sacked by Boko Haram insurgents one of such towns is Mubi, the second largest after the State Capital; Yola. Despite their huge efforts however, the hunters and local vigilantes complain that the Government is yet to give them befitting recognition and remunerations.
