The Federal Government has appointed Dr. Dakuku Peterside as the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, (NIMASA). Dr. Peterside was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party, in 2015 governorship election in Rivers State. His appointment was contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the Transport ministry, Yetunde Sonaike.
Peterside holds a Doctorate Degree in Management Science (Organisational Behaviour), from the University of Port Harcourt, MBA in Business Administration and a Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences (B. MLs) in Haematology from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology Rivers State.
He was elected member of the House of Representatives in 2011 to 2015 and he served as Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources, (Downstream)”.
