Consumers of sachet water popular called pure water in Port Harcourt, the rivers state capital, are complaining about the rarity of the product, while the association of table water producers embarks on a 4-day strike due to the rising cost of production and distribution. For over two decades now, the average Nigerian has found succor in getting refreshed by a quick gulp of water in satchets at a relatively affordable price.

However, a strike action by those who produce satchet water in Port Harcourt is depriving residents of this luxury. Association of table water producers say the cost of production and distribution is gagging them out of business.
