Pirates of intellectual works of Nigerian artists and entertainers are in for a tough time as the Federal Government says it will support the protection of intellectual properties in the country through all necessary legal means. Information and culture minister, Lai Mohammed, made this promise while speaking at the 3rd kannywood awards in Abuja.

With the cream of the Hausa language movie industry at hand to witness the third edition of the Kannywood awards, the federal government says it will work with practitioners in the industry and other owners of intellectual property to protect their rights and stop pirates in the country.

Information and Culture Minister, Lai Mohammed, says the efforts aimed at diversifying the nation’s economy will amount to nought if intellectual property rights are not protected.
