The Senate is showing its recognition of the Federal Government’s victory over the insurgents in the North East. A motion moved by the Leader of the Senate Ali Ndume and eight other Senators is seeking interim financial and material support and assistance to Internally Displaced Persons and returnees in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States.

The Leader kicked of the debate noting that most of the local governments previously occupied by the Boko Haram group are been recaptured by the Nigerian security forces particularly the army.
The Senate is also expressing worry that the IDPs ran away from their home towns leaving behind everything to the insurgents and a number heading for Niger Republic, Chad and Cameroon.
Monies have been and are still been donated to the Danjuma commission and as well as money from the service wide vote should be channeled to this cause.
