NASS ASSURES SPEEDY PASSAGE OF BILL

The National Assembly has assured that the bill for the establishment of Nigeria Peace Corps will be passed after scaling through public hearing and the third reading at the two chambers. A member of the Senate Committee on Interior, Senator Danjuma Lar and his colleague at the lower chamber Hon Abdullahi Faruq gave the assurance at the passing-out parade and commissioning of about one thousand three hundred cadets of Peace Corps of Nigeria.

The Peace Corps of Nigeria is yet to get legally recognised as a Para – Military Agency of the Government 17 years after its establishment. Gathered here are One thousand three hundred cadets of the Corps on standby for a parade review at the NYSC camp Ede in Osun state. The commissioning of the cadets marks the end of a four week training ‎ to enable them get integrated into the officers level of the Peace Corps of Nigeria.
