NIGERIAN MILITARY SET UP COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE ABUSES

Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin is reiterating that the commitment of the Armed Forces is to ensure security of lives and property as well as the corporate existence of Nigeria. Olonisakin said this while inaugurating a twelve man Human Right Committee in Abuja. He says it is in furtherance of the Armed Forces resolve to protecting human rights.

Speaking at the event, the Chief of Defense Staff, Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin says, the inauguration of the Human Right Committee is to demonstrate openness and commitment to Nigerian and the rest of the world that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is a responsive organization. He’s charging the Committee not to limit its focus to the North East alone as there must be proper collation of document as well as investigate of all alleged human right violations.
