President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration will not relent on efforts aimed at ensuring that Agriculture plays the pivotal role in the quest for diversifying the country’s economy. President Buhari has been reiterating this at 8th Bola Tinubu colloquium holding in Abuja. The ceremony is been organised as part of activities mark the 64th birthday ceremony of the National Leader of the governing All Progressives Congress.
With an estimated 170 million inhabitants, and with crude oil been the mainstay of the economy, exploring avenues to develop agriculture has been a major challenge for successive administration in the country. Thus turning the country to a major importer of different agricultural produce.
But with the mindset of making Agriculture a foreign exchange earner, President Buhari says achieving self sufficiency in major agricultural produce in shortest time is the target of his government.
