The challenges facing the Power Sector in Nigeria will be overcome with all Nigerians pulling in the same direction by contributing their quota in terms of action and steps to aid the growth of the sector. Power, Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola, says the challenges of the sector is temporary and will be overcome with the 10000 megawatts target of the President met in due time.
He says patriotism as displayed by two players in the nation’s burgeoning private sector driven power sector is important for this to be achieved. After 3 year dispute which according to the players was at times bitter, the intervention of the vice president sets the ball rolling to its resolution. This according to the Power, Works and Housing Minister, is a pointer to what needs to be done by all Nigerians to be a part of the solution to the challenges of the power sector which he says are temporary and will be overcome in due course.
He says patriotism as shown by the management of interstate and Enugu Distribution Company on one hand and Geometric Energy and Aba Power Company limited to resolve a crisis.
