Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal has been flagging off of the screening exercise for diabetics, hypertension, and cervical cancer to mark this year’s world health Day. 24 percent of ailments related deaths in Nigeria according to him are now caused by non communicable disease, with diabetes accounting for 2 percent of this.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation is advising Nigerians to go for screening regularly. He says early detection of diabetes helps in making informed decision about it’s management.
