The International Fund for Agricultural Development has been speaking on how effective it’s efforts at improving the livelihood of Nigerians have been in the rural areas especially in the area of food production. IFAD director, independent office of evaluation says Nigeria unlike many countries have benefited immensely from its programs geared to improving food supply.
The Director says the country programme evaluation is conducted to assess the result and performance of the IFAD- Government partnership to reduce rural poverty. According to findings of an independent evaluation presented, focus has been on the poorest state in the evaluation highlights the need for a more strategic approach to partnership building at the Federal and state levels.
Director of Independent Office of Evaluation says it is necessary to mobilize a range of public private partnership around fertiliser, seeds and processing in line with the approach stipulated by Nigeria’s Agricultural transformation agenda.
