PLATEAU PENSIONERS PROTEST NON PAYMENT FOR SEVEN MONTHS

Pensioners in Plateau state have been staging a peaceful protest to the commissioner for information’s office in Jos demanding their pensions. They claim lack of payment is leading several of their colleagues to early graves. Leader of the group is pleading with the State Lalong administration to have a human face and pay its elderly citizens who have used their productive years to sustain the state he now govern.

Having serve the Nation and retire, one is expected to reap the benefits of service in his or her retirement. But the story is not so for some who have for long waited for their rightful dues. Now there is an attitude of dismay as these pensioners begin to demand for what their State Government owes them.
