JOINT SEATING OF THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE COMMITTEES ON NDDC

The Senate and the House of Representative Committees on NDDC are poised to ensure that the NDDC gets the 3 percent remittance from oil companies operating in the Niger Delta. Acting Director General of NDDC has been telling the committees that the oil companies only remit whatever their convenience to the commission.

The management team of the NDDC led by its acting director general and the major oil players like AGIP, EXXON, SEPLAT, TOTAL and SHELL amongst others are been called before the committees to get a true picture of non remittance due the NDDC. The acting Director General is saying that the oil companies are just paying whatever they like to the commission from inception and it is hampering development in the region.
