Non indigenes of the Federal Capital Territory are been called upon to participate more actively in the territory’s electoral process. A Chairmanship in the council election gave this advise in Jikwoyi when quizzed about the absent of residents of the FCT who are from other parts of the country. He says the FCT belongs to all Nigerians and it is their Civic Right to vote.
Voting in the FCT Council polls have been progressing peacefully until the clouds burst open to pour down rain. The elections had to be halted as the down pour continued. Before that however, voters have been going to their respective polling units to accredit and cast their votes as attested to by local observers who are joining the Independent National Electoral Commission to monitor the elections.
