The shout out against the Electronic Voting System may just be gaining momentum as the Independent Electoral Commission is having to resort to manual voting in some polling center in the federal capital territory. The FCT Council elections which have been generally peaceful recorded an averagely low voter turnout.

Voting began at exactly eight am Saturday as voters were seen at polling units in their localities. Peacefully conducted, some polling units despite having a good number of voters on the registers some units concluded before the close of the election hours.

One major hiccup however is the fact that some of the card readers in some Polling Units began using the manual voting system because the card readers failed to function in Jikwoyi area with the consent of the party agents.
