The Senate has been explaining it own side of the inclusion of the rail project purportedly smuggled into the 2016 Budget. Speaking to news men after plenary, Senate Spokesman Sabi Abdulahi says the Senate seeing the importance of the Lagos – Calabar Rail Project, it had to include it in the budget.
The spokesman says that the National Assembly recognized the benefits accrued to Nigerians if the rail project was included. He says the Executive submitted the original budget without the Sixty billion naira project stating that they only followed a constitutional pattern which allows for a supplementary budget.
