Relief materials worth millions of naira have been provided to over four thousand persons displaced as a result of the April 10 attack by alleged herdsmen in Taraba State. The Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu delivering the items, says the perpetrators of the evil attack will be tracked down as government and the security agencies are intensifying efforts to bring the perpetrators to book.
Over four thousand persons in Dori and Meshuma villages in Gashaka Local Council of Taraba State have suddenly found themselves displaced over a recent attack by Fulani Herdmen which has claimed the lives of 15 people as confirmed by the police. The villages which had in the past enjoyed absolute peace, was invaded on the account that the villagers allegedly prevented some of the herdsmen from raping some women in the villages.
The act led to the massive killings and wanton destruction of houses, domestic animals and valuables. The State Government is however giving them hope and courage by providing them with relief materials and promise the victims of immediate tackling of the problem.
