The American Government is expressing concern over the plight of Nigerians who have become refugees in Cameroon as a result of Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East of Nigeria. A US delegation who paid a courtesy visit to Nigerian minister of Foreign Affairs, Ugochukwu Onyeama says over fifty thousand Nigerian refugees in Cameroon are living in horrible condition.
A delegation of the United States of America government is visiting some African countries affected by the activities of Boko Haram. Recounting their experience with Nigerian refugees in Cameroon, members of the delegation expressed worry over the deplorable conditions of the Boko Haram victims.
They however promised that the US government will offer humanitarian assistance to Nigeria and also continue sharing intelligence on how the insurgents will be defeated.
