The Taraba State House Of Assembly has received the report of the Committee on Public Petitions, Internal Security, Ethics and Privileges on the killing of villagers by herdsmen in Gashaka Local Government. The report has been forwarded to the Executive for a careful study and action to forestall further occurrences.

Presenting the reports during plenary, the legislators agree that the situation at the IDP camp at Gashaka is pathetic and requires more attention by the State Government as thousands have been displaced of their homes. Their recommendations include beefing up security in Gashaka and Bali local government areas to prevent further invasion of Garbabi and its environs.

The Lawmakers are also recommending that a high powered committee be put in place to investigate the true source of the attack on the communities in Gashaka with a view to taking appropriate measures on any sponsored group that may have aided and abetted the invasion of the communities.
