The Federal Government is reiterating its commitment to addressing major challenges facing the Nigerian Police. Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo made this pledge at the inaugural Inspector General of Police strategy and management conference meeting in Abuja. He says the conference is in line with the present administration’s efforts to strengthen the competencies and capacities of the leadership cadre of the Nigeria Police.
Reforming the Nigeria Police Force to play it’s constitutional roles of a security agency in a more effective manner requires the support of all Nigerians. Speaking at the event the representative of the Vice President says, in view of the Nigerian Police role in maintaining law and order, the Federal Government will address the challenges of adequate funding, training and other major challenges facing the force. Adding that, the conference is to afford the Nigeria Police Force an opportunity in improving police service delivery.
