PRESIDENT BUHARI MEETS PRINCIPAL OFFICERS OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

President Muhammadu Buhari last night met with the leadership of the National Assembly led by the Senate President Bukola Saraki at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The closed door meeting which began at 9:20pm lasted for ten minutes. It was held at the conference room of wife of the President. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was also in attendance. Speaking to State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, Saraki said the Executive and Legislature agreed on the way forward to tackle the 2016 Budget crisis.

According to him, the grey areas will be ironed out in a matter of days and the budget will be ready for President’s assent next week. Buttressing the position of President of the Senate, Minister of Budget and National Udo Udoma says the Executive and the legislature have agreed to work together. Recalled that earlier in the day, journalists were bared by security operatives attached to office the President from covering the visit between the Speaker of the House of Representatives and President Buhari.
