Tourism is a resource of development and means of providing an additional opportunity for a non-industrialised country like Nigeria to diversify its economic base for the betterment of all. President Muhammadu Buhari in his speech to the National Summit on Culture and Tourism also charges stakeholders in the sector to come up with practical solutions that will aid government’s efforts to make the Culture and Tourism Sector a centre-point of the Nation’s Economic Development.
As part of efforts aimed at diversifying the Nation’s Economy and cure it of addiction to oil, the Ministry of Information and Culture brought together experts and practitioners in the culture and tourism sector to chart a sustainable way forward for the sector. The experts gathered in this hall including expatriates and development partners working with the Federal Government had this charge from President Muhammadu Buhari who spoke through his Minister of Industries, Trade and Investment.
