Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has expressed his support for Nigeria Governors Forum’s call on the Federal Government to halt deduction of loans on the monthly allocation due to states. Ambode who state this after a closed meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari says such initiative will help state government to catch up current economic realities.
Recently, the Federal Government announced deferral in the loan deductions from a monthly allocation due to states. A move according to Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun is to enable state governments pay salary as way of stimulating the economy. Emerging from a meeting with President Buhari, Lagos State Governor says the deferral will cushion the effect of current economic crunch facing State Governments.
