WORKER’S DAY: NLC CALLS FOR REVIEW OF MINIMUM WAGE

As Nigerian workers get set to celebrate this Year’s Workers Day, the Nigerian Labour Congress is calling on the Federal Government to review the National Minimum wage as it is long overdue considering the economic trend. Deputy President, Nigerian Labour Congress Comrade Peter Adeyemi made this call in Abuja while addressing news men on the activities lined up for the May day celebration.

He says has naira has lost its value, the current minimum wage has been eroded which call for need to urgently review the current Minimum wage. May Day celebration is an occasion for Workers to celebrate the dignity of Labour as well reflect on their struggles and making their demands known.

Deputy President, Nigeria Labour Congress says the Federal Government should suspend the recent increment in electricity tariff and put an end to endemic fuel scarcity in Nigeria which has resulted to unwanted long queues at the filling station.
