Issues of climate change has been a bother for years, since the Kyoto conference on climate change years ago in Japan, most of the agreements reached are still been ignored. Many problems are arising from the emission of green house gas especially on most of the developing countries. And so a bill for an act to provide measures to address climate change with a view to assisting in achieving a sustainable future for the country has been passing its second reading at the Senate.

Seeking to address reduction in green house gas emissions within Nigeria to promote the use of renewable sources of energy, promote business and community understanding about issues surrounding climate change is the main thrust of the bill as the sponsor so succinctly put it before the chamber. Climate change seem as it to be affecting every aspect of life in Nigeria as some of the front line states are witnessing the consequences of climate change especially in the security as observed by members.
