The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has recorded a peaceful Local Government Congress in Taraba. The Congress was conducted peacefully in the 16 local government areas of the state with no case of violence recorded. The exercise as observed commenced at different locations by 11.00 a.m.
It was supervised by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission , INEC, and there was a heavy presence of security operatives to maintain law and order. In Lau Local Government Areas, the exercise was very peaceful despite the crises experience by the community recently. 72 delegates were accredited and cast their votes out of 77 delegates.
