All over the world, the issue of women empowerment is a core focus of any Government in view of their economic contribution. The Federal Government says, it will promote the standards in production and services by women in order to strengthen their existing capacity. The Minister for Trade and Investment made this known at the 4th African Day of standardisation in Abuja.
The subject of empowerment of women is becoming a burning issue that the United Nation’s in their reports have emphasised that gender issue to be given priority. The Minister of state for Trade and investment says the theme of the celebration ‘ women empowerment towards AU agenda 2063’ is to honour the contribution of women to the development of the continent.
The African Union vision 2063 is aimed at self sufficiency where Africans can harness all resources to meet their needs without reliance on foreign goods and services.
