ECONOMY: CBN INTRODUCES INITIATIVES FOR LOW INCOME EARNERS

The Central Bank of Nigeria is planning to target low income earners like women, farmers, youth and entrepreneurs in order to reposition Nigeria’s Economy. A fair with the theme Promoting Financial Stability and Economic Development organised by the apex bank in Jalingo the Taraba State capital where bank customers are been trained on the its initiatives is aimed at creating awareness‎ about economic development initiatives and programmes of the bank.

Hundreds of bank customers are been tutored by the officials of the bank on the CBN’s roles on development finance, Consumers protection, Medium and Small Scale Enterprises, illegal sales of new notes, Cashless policy, poor handling habits of naira notes, e-payment incentives among others.

The sensitization programme targeted at customers and people living with disabilities from the apex bank is to help develop safe, reliable and efficient banking initiatives. Participants who are been lectured on fresh initiatives from the CBN and had opportunities to ask various questions on how to resolve issues they have with their commercial banks.
