The high rate of drug users in the Internally Displaced Camps is on the increase and becoming worrisome especially in the North East. Wife of the Niger Governor, Amina Bello disclosed that the mental health of Nigerian in the IDP Camps is being neglected and seek government’s serious attempt to the problem before it gets to an epidemic level.
The Governor wife says Government official should give special preference to people in the IDP Camps. She is advising youths and women to deviate from abusing these substances as they are capable of causing mental disorder. She says many victims of drug abuse find it hard to be identified due to religion and cultural issues.
