The Taraba State Police Command is cracking down on some gangs that have been engaging in criminal activities across the state particularly cattle rustling and kidnapping. Parading some suspects in Jalingo, the State Police Commissioner Shaba Alkali says the command is doing everything it takes to ensure that the state is rid of criminals and all levels of crime.
Ten suspects are been paraded following their arrest by the command in separate operations while large cache of arms and ammunition, including five AK47 riffles, two assault riffles, two single barrel guns, one locally made double barrel pistol and a locally made single barrel pistol and several rounds of live ammunition.
The State Commissioner of Police says the gangs were smashed by a Special Joint Operation of SARS recently set up by the command in conjunction with local vigilante groups.
