As the protest against fuel price hike enters its day 2, the leadership of the Wabba led faction of the Nigerian Labour Congress says it will remain on the streets until the federal government accedes to its demand and prevent further hardship on the people of Nigeria.

It’s the second day of the Nigeria Labour Congress protest and strike action against the hike in the pump price of premium motor spirit and the protest has been joined by the Union of Local Government Workers, Civil Society Organizations and the Nigerian Union of Teachers.

The protest started peacefully from the Berger Bridge with security agencies guarding the procession but was a different story at the area one bridge with a different set of protesters chanting Sai Baba on the other end with brooms in their hands.

The President of the Nigerian Labour Congress leading the team says they will remain on the street until the government accedes to its demand and reverse hike in pump price of the Premium Motor Spirit adding that the union is open to negotiations.
