The National Hospital has again successfully carried out six open heart surgeries on children with varying heart conditions. This comes three months after a similar operations were carried out on six other children. The surgical procedures according to the hospital authorities were done by Nigerian surgeons.
Six children with heart diseases of varying complexities were operated in the course of the week. The patients had been at the cardiac intensive care unit from where they were wheeled to the theatre for corrective surgeries. The previous patients are doing very well and being monitored.
