The Federal Government has placed balance of excess crude account at 2 billion dollars as at the end of April. Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, John Jonah stated this at the end of the National Economic Council meeting. The 67th National Economic Council meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo deliberated on numerous developmental issues.
Addressing State House Correspondent at the end of the meeting, Bayelsa state deputy Governor says tackling oil theft and vandalism in the Niger delta which according to him is a by-product of massive unemployment in the region tops the agenda at the meeting.
He thereafter places the balance of the excess crude account at 2 dollars as at the end of April. According to Kogi State Governor, the issue of bailout fund given to States by the federal government also forms part of discussion at the meeting. Implementation of the 2016 budget was also deliberated upon at the meeting according the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma.
