The Transport Sector in Nigeria may be heading for proper sanitisation should a bill for the establishment of a Transport Regulation Commission pass third reading at the Senate. The bill sponsored by Senator Andy Uba is seeking legislation that will see to the proper running of all areas of the transport sector.
He observed that the sector has been largely unregulated and therefore has all kinds of violation in the operation of transport systems in the country. Transportation no doubt is one of the main arteries of any Nation’s economy as it enhances the development through investment shifts.
The sponsor feels there is a need to properly articulate a system that is worthwhile for Nigeria and Nigerians.
